Anti-Aging Serums Could Be Harming Your Body

Anti-aging serums could be harming your body…

Did you know that many popular anti-aging serums contain harsh chemicals that have adverse health effects? In fact, many of these chemicals have been linked to breast cancer. Some of the culprits are:

  • Coal Tar: Derived from coal and is a byproduct of the production of coke, a solid fuel that contains mostly carbon, and coal gas. Exposure to coal tar increases the risk of skin cancer.  It is found mostly in products used to treat eczema, psoriasis, and dandruff.
  • Benzoyl Peroxide: FDA warns against using benzoyl peroxide as it causes dangerous side effects and allergic reactions. It is found in acne products and can irritate your eyes, skin, and respiratory system. It can also damage the skin’s structure and cellular DNA, resulting in premature aging of the skin.
  • Dioxin: Excluded from product labels, dioxin is used in facial cleansers. WHO reports “Dioxins are highly toxic and can cause reproductive and developmental problems, damage the immune system, interfere with hormones and also cause cancer.”
  • Parabens: Parabens aren’t always listed in ingredients, but are used in many skin care products. Scientific studies suggest that parabens can disrupt hormones in the body and harm fertility and reproductive organs, affect birth outcomes, and increase the risk of cancer.
  • Polyethylene Glycol (PEG): Found in a variety of cosmetic formulations. PEG functions as a penetration enhancer and can allow harmful ingredients to be absorbed more readily through the skin.
  • Oxybenzone: Found in some sunscreens. May interfere with the normal function of a number of hormones, including estrogen. Oxybenzone may also cause allergies, damage cells and contribute to low birth weight in infants.
  • Phthalates: Often not always listed on labels. Researchers have linked phthalates to asthma, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, breast cancer, obesity and type II diabetes, low IQ, neurodevelopmental issues, behavioral issues, autism spectrum disorders, altered reproductive development and male fertility issues.

It’s ironic how the ingredients in many skin care products cause the very thing they claim to remedy. For this reason you really have to know what’s in your skin care products. Once you know you have to seek out some safe alternatives. Of course, I won’t leave you hanging. Let’s look at some safe alternatives now.

Bella Beauty’s Hyaluranic Acid Serum

Bella Beauty’s Hyaluranic Acid Serum is a great place to start. Made with a blend of hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and E, organic aloe, organic jojoba oil, green tea extract and other botanical extracts it is a great moisturizer. Bella Beauty’s serum is vegan, mostly organic (72%), non-GMO, contains no alcohol or parabens and is cruelty free. The best way to describe the effectiveness of this product would be “hydrating.” If you’re experiencing skin problems related to lack of moisture than this is a great option.

BioTRUST Ageless Glow Skin Rejuvenating Serum

I will state the con for this next one up front because the pros will outweigh it. The price tag. However, BioTRUST Ageless Glow Skin Rejuvenating Serum is worth the price tag if you value clean ingredients. In this world of chemical-ridden skin care product’s BioTRUST Ageless Glow is a welcomed change. The ingredients are clean, free of parabens, phthalates and sulfates. Ageless Glow is manufactured in a GMP-certified facility and is 3rd party tested. Ingredients are plant based including vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, squalane, majestem, and senestem. Most importantly, Ageless Glow is hydrating without the oily residue. It has a light, citrus scent that you really don’t mind. Give it a try and let us know in the comments how you love it.

Tree Of Life’s Vitamin C Serum

Now if the price tag of Ageless Glow gave you a heart attack no need to worry. Tree Of Life Vitamin C Serum will restore you. Tree of Life offers you clean ingredients for a fraction of the price. Tree Of Life’s Vitamin C Serum is primarily made of vitamin C as the name suggests. It’s organic, paraben free, vegan, cruelty free and made in the U.S.A. This product also moisturizes without the oily residue. Best of all, it is highly effective. It’s like a miracle skin cure that makes your skin smoother and evens out your skin tone, which is exactly what you want in an anti-aging serum.

So by now you should be convinced that you need to ditch the toxic, suicidal anti-aging serums. Instead, you need to bet on yourself by giving some of these safe alternative anti-aging serums a try. They will likely become part of your nightly routine in no time.
