Soul food just came to Hollywood Hills and another celebrity has gotten on the bandwagon of plant based company owners. In a partnership with the acclaimed plant based chef, Chef Velvet, Nick Cannon just opened a vegan soul food eatery called The VTree Hollywood in Hollywood Hills. The VTree Hollywood features plant based dishes with a southern inspired, soulful flair.
Chef Velvet, who also owns the acclaimed VelTree restaurant in Charlotte, NC has created a menu at VTree that makes you salivate at the thought. VTree boasts menu items like seitan-based BBQ Ribz, Cajun Shrimp, African Peanut Stew, Lasagna, Salisbury Steak over rice, Krab Cakes, and Chic’N & Waffles. Some sides include mac and cheese, yams, cornbread, and chef’s choice veggies. Then top that all off with some red velvet cake for dessert and smile because life won’t get much better.
Nick Cannon, who eliminated chicken, pork, and processed foods after being diagnosed with lupus in 2012 has been a long time fan of Chef Velvet’s cooking. After tasting her vegan chicken, convinced that it was the real thing he was an permanent convert.
So from there these partners refused to let the pandemic stop them. While they are only offering curbside service until the lockdown is relaxed, you can still stop by and pick up some food that is sure to warm your heart. Break out the bull horn, Nick Cannon has in fact opened a vegan soul food eatery in Hollywood Hills. Go get some food for the soul!
