Who wins the battle between Parma! Vegan Parmesan vs Pimp My Salad Vegan Parmesan?
Want to make your salad or pasta dish pop? Then, if you haven’t already done so, you may want to give vegan parmesan a go. When you do, you’ll discover that it really boils down to two competing brands. Those are Parma! Vegan Parmesan and Pimp My Salad Vegan Parmesan. Let’s explore both brands further to access which way you may be leaning.
Similarities
Both brands are 100% dairy, gluten, soy and GMO free. They are an excellent food source of Omega 3 fatty acids, B Vitamins, protein, and minerals. Additionally, both have impeccably clean ingredients.
Differences
Meanwhile, Parma! by Sister River Foods has been around the longest. They launched back in 2004. However, unlike Pimp My Salad, Parma has a more narrow focus. Parma! focuses solely on vegan parmesan cheese offering 4 flavors including Original, Chipotle Cayenne, Garlicky Green and Better Than Bacon. Parma! is considered a complete protein, raw food, superfood and is nutrient dense.
Now in my opinion Parma! isn’t at all reminiscent of parmesan. So if you’re looking to replicate the flavor and texture of parmesan Parma! may be a disappointment. However, if you’re up for a bit of nutritional deliciousness than you’ll be pleasantly surprised by Parma! Parma! does add a very savory, nutty deliciousness to a dish. It’s great on salad, as a topping on raw or cooked vegetables, wraps, soups, pasta dishes and more. Most importantly, you can’t beat the nutritional punch of Parma!
Next, Pimp My Salad is composed of a range of superfoods, spices and seeds. It has recently begun to navigate the growing U.S. market so currently it’s not as accessible or popular as its competitor. Nonetheless, Pimp My Salad is definitely worth trying. It has a crunchier texture than Parma! It also has a more bold flavor. Pimp My Salad comes in 6 flavors including Cashew, Coconut Bacon, Hemp, Super Seeds, Sea Seaweed Superfoods and Spiced Sprouted Sunflower Seeds.
What I am really enjoying about Pimp My Salad is that it is packaged in eco jars with peelable labels. As for the texture and flavor I was pleasantly surprised. Like Parma! I can’t say that Pimp My Salad tastes anything like parmesan. It also does not have the texture of parmesan. Likewise, Pimp My Salad does, however give a dish that extra burst of flavor. Now given the crunchy texture of Pimp My Salad I prefer to use it differently than how I use Parma! So I enjoy using Pimp My Salad as a topping on buddha bowls, rice, pizza and salad.
Overall, I love them both for very different reasons. If you want a burst of crunchy, bold texture and flavor than I’d say that Pimp My Salad is the way to go. If you want a savory burst of flavor accompanied by an insane amount of nutrients than I’d say go with Parma! Ultimately, I suggest trying them both because they both bring their own style of deliciousness to the table.
