Glasgow is another vegan paradise. There is something for every meat-free meal. From cafes to fine dining you have endless delectable options at your disposal. Here are the top 10 vegan hot spots in Glasgow, Scotland.
1. The V&V Cafe, originally named for being vegetarian and vegan, is now 100% vegan. V&V is most known for their signature homemade curries and pakoras. They also have a great selection of vegan cakes and pies. Meanwhile, if you’re in need of some light groceries stop by their vegan provisions mini mart.
2. The 78 is a cozy pub environment that has long been the hangout spot for vegans and vegetarians as well as a favorite among students. They have a 100% vegan menu.
Some menu highlights include ranch salad, spaghetti carbonara, patatas bravas and the classic 78 burger. Especially worth trying is the jackfruit shawarma on a khobez flatbread and cheese and charred onion burger on a Barvarian bakehouse brioche bun. Is your mouth watering yet? After dinner be sure to save room for some dessert. You may enjoy some sweet treats like vegan churros, vegan cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding.

3. Mono opened in 2002 and was the first 100% vegan establishment in Glasgow. Mono is definitely on the list of coolest places to enjoy some vegan food. Hosting live music gigs and performances, in addition to its restaurant, Mono is renowned for its relaxed atmosphere and quality food. It’s also known for drawing a creative crowd of music lovers with it’s onsite record shop, Monorail Music. The fun never stops at Mono’s. They also host live music, baby discos, art exhibitions, book readings, record fares, beer festivals, resident DJs and foosball.

4. Located on the ground floor of the Mackintosh-designed Daily Record building in the city centre, Stereo is another happening staple Glasgow restaurant, bar, and live music venue. It’s been around for over a decade. By day Stereo serves delicious vegan cuisine and by night they host bands and DJs into the wee hours of the morning.
Menu selections are created using fresh, seasonal ingredients so menu items are constantly changing. Some menu highlights are Fettucine with Porcini Mushrooms, Roast Potato Salad, Baba Ghanoush, soups, sandwiches, pizzas, burgers, and pasta. 6. Picnic is a delightful little vegan cafe in the heart of the Merchant City neighborhood known for whipping up some of the most amazing fruit juice creations and smoothies. They also make some scrumptious raw salad bowls, sandwiches, wraps and burgers. Their curry of the day is sure to be a welcoming, flavorful surprise. Picnic is the perfect choice for lunch, coffee, cake and culinary bliss.
7. Red Onion is an award-winning restaurant situated in Glasgow’s city centre run by celebrity chef, John Quigley. It’s a favorite among those who love casual, gourmet Scottish dining that’s not so fancy that you feel out of place. Vegan travelers will love their vegan options offered on a separate vegan set menu. Between John Quigley’s culinary skills, a variety of starters and mains to choose from you won’t be short on delectable options that make it difficult to choose.

9. Hug & Pint is one of Glasgow’s outstanding vegan pubs that focuses on Asian-inspired cuisine with a rotating menu. Dishes are to share and that’s good because you will want to order everything. On weekends pop in for “Boozy Brunch” for a flat rate where you’ll enjoy three dishes from the kitchen and three drinks to wash them down. Other times you’ll find a lovely selection of five dishes to choose from with plates being updated weekly.
With menu options that are as comforting as a hug, Hug & Pint’s serves up a creative, contemporary, diverse vegan menu.
