DIY Tooth Powder

When it comes to dental hygiene it’s always refreshing to come across a product that’s free of the fluoride, saccharin, aspartame, parabens, sodium laureth sulfate and whatnot. So when I came across this DIY tooth powder by Jaclyn Mccosker I was stoked.

Using minimal ingredients, this recipe pretty much includes all that you need for fresh breath and a toxin-free way to clean your teeth. The ingredients have dental health benefits that have been well-documented. Best of all, the ingredients are easy to find and you may even have many of them on hand. Here’s what you’ll need.

Now you can add this to your current toothpaste of choice or simply dip your toothbrush into it and use it solo. I tried it both ways and in the end I had a better experience adding it to my current toothpaste brand.

What I love most about this recipe is the simplicity of it. While I’m not sure that I’ll solely use it everyday, its definitely one that I’ll take out for occasional use, on vacations and when I run out of my primary brand. I also love the refreshin, light texture of it. The peppermint is fire and the taste is on point.

Overall, it’s well worth a try especially if you’re looking for a way to get away from conventional toothpaste.
