DIY Review – Glass Cleaner

Most conventional glass cleaners contain ammonia. Ammonia fumes are a powerful irritant, potentially harming your skin, eyes, nose, lungs and throat. So when I found this DIY glass cleaner from vegancuts.com I just had to give it a try.

Initially, when I looked at the ingredients I must say that I had little faith. However, once giving it a try I was surprised to see that this DIY glass cleaner is amazingly effective. It really did get my glass clean and without a single streak!

What I love most about the recipe is that the ingredients consists of common household items. For me that sealed the deal! I’m proud to say that I now use this DIY glass cleaner to clean the mirrors as well as all the windows in my home. No more toxic, store-bought glass cleaner for me!

Ingredients

Streak-free Glass Cleaner
½ cup distilled white vinegar
¼ cup rubbing alcohol
2-3 drops essential oil of your choice (lemon and orange are nice in this one)
Warm filtered water

Instructions

Combine vinegar, alcohol, and essential oil in a 32oz spray bottle and squish around to mix. Fill the bottle the rest of the way with warm water, replace the spray nozzle, and shake gently to combine. Use with black-and-white newspaper for the shiniest, streak-free windows and mirrors!
