On my zero waste tour I’ve somehow found myself on a journey back to soap bars. I just don’t want to keep polluting the landfills with the plastic bottles that most liquid body wash brands are notorious for. So for that reason, I’ve made my way back to soap bars.
Specifically, I’m loving Urbanized soap bars. This soap bar is everything. It’s vegan, all natural and free of all the yucky toxins. It’s also free of palm oil, parabens, phthalates, sulfates, synthetic ingredients, and artificial fragrances.
Instead, Urbanized soap bars are made with raw, simple, plant based ingredients including coconut, canola, castor, and safflower oils, cocoa butter, repurposed coffee (which produces the natural brown color), and vanilla extract. Best of all the packaging is 100% recyclable.
As an exfoliating soap the Urbanized soap bar can be used as a body wash as well as a facial wash. Exfoliation soothes itching, eliminates flaking, and moisturizes the skin.
Then coffee, which is a key ingredients in Urbanized soap helps detox, firm, and revitalize the skin. Coffee also reduces dark spots, acne scars, and the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks.
Now while the size is the Urbanized soap bar is small compared to some others currently on the market I still feel like I’m getting bank for buck. Natural ingredients aren’t always easy to come by. Yet, with Urbanized you get that and more. You also get a hydrating, moisturizing clean minus the toxic residue. I also love the smell. It sort of reminiscent of a chocolate bar. The scent is subtle, but pleasant. For these reasons, the Urbanized soap bar is splurge worthy.
Have you recently ventured the journey back to soap bars? If so, have you tried Urbanized handmade soap bars? What did you think?
