“I always wanted to be somebody, but now I realize I should have been more specific.” — Lily Tomlin
peace lovies! this quote literally says it all. i’ve learned the hard way too many times the importance of being specific in your thoughts, desires and intentions.
i can’t tell you how many times in my quest to manifest my desires how often i’ve nurtured desires that were not specific enough. the consequences were devastating every time. at each juncture i was left wondering how things could have gotten so off track?
at the same time, when diving a little deeper into this thing, i question why not being specific always seems to unfold as the worst case scenario? i mean can’t the universe just give you the benefit of the doubt sometimes? does not being specific always warrant a punishment?
though i guess in the end the point is to be specific so that you maintain control over the situation. by being specific you take things out of the hands of ‘fate’ and you strategically direct your life’s path with control and precision. it is then and only then that you master the game.
overall i get how this all works. to be ‘somebody’ you have to be specific about who that is from the inside out. you have to tap into who that is and feel the essence of what that really means to you. you also have to balance it all out and not be too over-the-top with the specifics. in other words, don’t obsess. just be cool. neutrality is key.
so with that said let’s do this. “i want to be somebody who is …..”
you fill in the blanks and don’t forget the importance of being specific.
