Beauty Without Cruelty (BWC) is the pioneer of cruelty free cosmetics. BWC was founded over 50 years ago in 1963! It was founded by the trustees of BWC Charitable Trust, an animal welfare organization. They were driven by a determination to manufacture and distribute color cosmetics that were not tested on animals and did not contain any animal ingredients.
BWC has a full line of body and hair care products that are vegan and cruelty free. Their hair care products are made using a combination of botanical herbs, pro-vitamins, natural plant proteins and essential oils. BWC Skin care products are made with pure essential oils from flowers, herbs & spices.
Unlike other vegan cosmetic lines, BWC product ingredients are not all natural. Nonetheless, for those who are primarily concerned with ingredients being vegan and cruelty free BWC may still be worth checking out. On the other hand eco-conscious consumers who prefer sustainable, natural, plant-based ingredients may wish to pass on BWC products.
