Forks Over Knives Flavor is just as inspiring as the 2011 documentary that ignited a plant based revolution. In the Forks Over Knives: Flavor! cookbook head chef Darshana Thacker offers 150 delicious, all-new, easy-to-prepare whole-food, plant-based recipes.
This cookbook truly proves that living on a plant based diet is every bit as delicious as it is healthy. With recipes like Moo Shu Vegetable Wraps with Hoisin Sauce and Thai Red Curry Noodles with Stir-Fry Vegetables this cookbook captured my heart. Plus, when I saw the stunning photographs I swear that they captured the flavors of cuisines from around the world at a glance.
If you can’t tell, I really love this cookbook. Primarily, I am a fan of its use of healthy, whole food ingredients. It also avoids the use of oil. I mostly appreciate the international flair of this cookbook. The recipes make me feel like I’m on a culinary adventure around the world.
Besides that, it’s as educational as it is delicious. The innovative techniques and heady spicy blends used to create the most ingenious plant based spins on many of my favorite international cuisines easily land this cookbook at the head of the class.
Some cons are the inconvenient ingredients and rather labor intensive instructions. For that reason this cookbook is best reserved for weekend use or for special occassions. Also, some recipes are on the bland side, but I just add a few spices and seasoning on my own and I’m good to go.
Nonetheless, sure to please, Forks Over Knives Flavor is a health-conscious eater’s dream! Even the most discriminating palate will have to agree. So if you’re ready, it’s time to learn about good, tasty, hearty plant based eating. Forks Over Knives Flavor is a great place to start.
There’s no wonder it made the New York Times best seller’s list. It looks good and the recipes taste even better. If this cookbook does nothing else, it empowers you to live a healthier and happier life. Indeed the Forks Over Knives Flavor cookbook is just as inspiring as the documentary.
