This week’s splurge worthy find is cellulose cloths. Cellulose cloths clean your home the eco-friendly way. They are made from biodegradable wood-based cellulose pulp and all natural cotton materials.
Cellulose cloths are 100% biodegradable, compostable, reusable, and more absorbent than traditional cotton dishcloths. In fact, they have an absorption rate of 15x’s its own weight. They are also soft to the touch, durable, and washing machine safe, and last far longer than traditional sponges or paper towels. A single cellulose cloth will replace up to 15 rolls of paper towels.
Cellulose cloths are multi-use and perfect for a diverse range of cleaning uses. You can use them in the kitchen, bathroom, office, or most any surface area in your home.
So I was searching for a safe, eco-friendly alternative to toxin and bacteria-ridden paper towels, dish cloths, sponges and Clorox wipes. “Cleaning” my kitchen with cloths filled with yucky harsh chemicals and that are breeding grounds for bacteria seemed pointless. So I was determined to find a better way. Then, during my search I came across cellulose cloths.
Cellulose cloths were the perfect solution. I love everything about them. First, they are super affordable and can last for months. Also, they work well with my favorite diy household cleaners. Additionally, they are designed to dry quickly, which minimizes bacteria growth and smell. Best of all, they’re easy to clean and can be cleaned in one of three ways including:
- washer and dryer
- dishwasher
- microwave wet (to kill bacteria and smell)
For me, cellulose cloths are the obvious choice for my wallet and the environment. Cellulose cloths clean your home the eco-friendly way and are therefore extremely splurge worthy. If you want to give your home a good clean while doing something fab for the environment, cellulose cloths are the way to go.
