This week’s Hulu and Hang fav is Devs. Devs is an FX limited series that ventures a peek into the limitlessness of reality. If you enjoy shows that challenge you to think outside of the box, to question reality, to explore the untapped parts of your consciousness then you will enjoy Devs. Think “Inception.” Devs offers the existential side of sci-fi.
Devs focuses on a young software engineer named Lily Chan (starring Sonoya Mizuno) who works for Amaya, a cutting-edge tech company based in Silicon Valley. Let me just say that I absolutely love shows like this. It totally satisfies the appetite for all topics quantum with a dash of science fiction, a hint of intrique and a heaping dose of brain teasing. I love how the wrtiter so eloquently blended imagination and intrigue enveloped in suspension of belief.
Besides that the cinematography was epic. The characters were vivid and imaginative. The acting was amazing. The atmosphere was artistic. Best of all the writing was superb. Overall, Devs is not only an entertaining indulgence, it’s a step out of the boring and predictable and a leap into an awareness of something unbound.
So if you enjoy existential ponderings, theoretical physics and science and are a patient viewer than Devs is a must watch. It’s perfect for a watch party as it is loaded with out-of-pocket ideas about reality and the most penetrating talking points.
