    How We Value Trust As Sacred

    we trust that our loved ones have our best interest at heart. we trust the clerk on the phone with our social security number. we trust that our lover has good intentions. we trust that we won’t come to work to a pink slip. we trust that our spouse will be faithful. when rock climbing we trust that the rope is secure and will not give. each day we put our trust in so many people and things and amazingly enough we do so with considerable ease. we’re pretty trusting beings. ever stopped to ponder why????

    The Illusion Of Trying

    so i know that at some point in our lives we’ve all heard the saying, “never give up, keep trying.” however, what does that really say to us and how do we really process that phrase? let’s see…. one definition of “trying” is… straining one’s patience and goodwill to the limit. now i don’t know about you, but to me that doesn’t sound like anything that i want to do, especially to the end of actually achieving something. so why are we always trying rather than doing?

    so this is sort of a continuation of my last post…. i notice that so many people seek to find their happiness and fulfillment in so many external sources such as pets, cars, houses, jewelry (though i admit a few karats of gemstones will always bring a smile to my face! LOL), significant others, friends, family, jobs, awards, titles, status, spirituality, yoga, vegetarianism, 6-pack abs (oooohhh but i do like those myself LOL), and the list could truly go on forever.

    as many of us used to say in the black community, “you gotta keep it copacetic!” now to tell you the truth i never knew how to spell that word or what the true annunciation was until typing this post lol.
