My newest oldest beauty find of the week comes by way of the crystal facial roller. Use of the crystal facial roller is an ancient beauty hack that has recently made a comeback. Traditionally, the skin was gently scraped using flat jade stones to promote oxygenation and regeneration. Dating back to China as far back as the 7th century, this traditional practice is still used today in Gua sha treatments.
The only difference is that today’s usual gemstone suspects of choice include not only jade, but also rose quartz and amethyst. What a stellar line-up?!? Aside from opening the heart chakra, rose quartz reduces and releases impurities and stress in the skin. Meanwhile, amethyst calms inflammation and is great for acne-prone skin.
