So does Ener-g Egg Replacer really work? If you’re a vegan and still do a lot of baking like me then you probably know that a vegan egg replacement IS A MUST! When I first began my vegan journey I only knew of flaxseed, bananas, applesauce or silken tofu as options. THEN I came across Ener-G egg replacer, which is a commercial egg replacer powder, and I fell in culinary love!
Not only is the price right, but so is the shelf life. I don’t bake everyday and may not have bananas or applesauce on hand when the mood to bake strikes. I try to keep the soy intake to a minimum so don’t use silken tofu very often. As for flaxseed, though it is the healthiest option, using it really depends on what I’m preparing. The nutty flavor of it just doesn’t bode well with all dishes. So this leaves me with Ener-G and what a great couple we make. I can use this stuff in any and everything from muffins to whipped cream and the absolute best part is that this 16 oz. box can last me for about 6 months!
So to answer the question of whether Ener-G Egg Replacer really does work I can say emphatically that it does. Whether you’re a barber, a baker or a candlestick maker who’s looking for a cholesterol-free, meatless way to bind food ingredients you may want to give this starchy gem a try! If you do, let me know how it goes and happy cooking!
