Science Of Failure

There is actually a science of failure. In fact, it starts in the mind. When nothing seems to work or no plan seems to pan out rest assured that you can always initiate the reversal process starting with the mind. When you’re in the midst of a whirlwind of failed efforts the best way to overtake the downturn is to go within.

A mental escape can make all the difference. Slipping away to the quiet of your mind can be healing and transformative. There you can peacefully put things into perspective. You can mindfully map out your next move. Best of all you avoid taking unnecessary missteps in a panic or worse losing faith in yourself.

I can relate all too well to how it feels when you do everything ‘right’ so to speak. Yet, despite your efforts, focus, good vibes, positive thinking and consistency things still don’t seem to be lining up for you. Meanwhile, you see a zillion other people achieving all that you want to achieve, seemingly with so much ease and without having given the slightest thought to doing anything ‘right.’ In fact, at times it even seems like the best things happen for the worst people.

However, seeing beyond the illusion of this can be very challenging, especially when you’re in the thick of it. It’s even more trying when you’ve been beaten down by failure for so long.

Failure is a tricky beast. It casts some serious illusions that can be near impossible to shake. Yet, failure isn’t any different from anything else in life. It can be overcome. The way to overcome failure is by balancing the poles.

There is a killer technique that literally neutralizes the swing of the pendulum (law of rhythm) and consequently brings some balance back into your life. Consider the law of polarity, which essentially states that all things are dual and have pair of opposites. That said, if your failures represent the night sky and your successes represent the sunshine you know without a doubt that both exist simulataneously, which means that even in the midst of failure, you can access success at will.

So the technique works like this. Rather than giving all of your divine attention to the areas of your life in which failure has consistently been the outcome, shift some of that attention elsewhere. Specifically, attempt to equally distribute that attention to that which you love as well as that which you do, but may dislike.

For instance, if you hate your job, but you know that its the best way to achieve the things that you desire, neutralize that disdain by doing something that you love on weekends or via planned mini vacations every few months or so. What this will do is help to keep you in a state of anticipation of something fun. You’ll also find that after some time, it will take your mind off of how much you hate your job and outcomes will gradually transform from failures to successes.

There is no doubt something in life that you love, something that brings you joy, but that has unfortunately gotten overshadowed by areas of failure. In fact, once you have calmed yourself by going within, come out and balance your life out with more moments of enjoyment. Refrain from creating imbalance by allowing your failures to overshadow the things that you love in life. Force yourself to get out and love life. If you don’t know what you love in life then now is as good a time as any to find out.

Remember that there is a science of failure. It has a polar opposite called success. So with lots of practice this technique can lead you to become a success in areas that you once perceived yourself to be a failure. Give this technique a try. You have nothing to lose and all the success in the world to gain.
