Life these days is an endless cycle of the day before. It seems that wake up-go to sleep-repeat seems to be the highlight of these times. The imposed limitations and restrictions on your life that have accompanied COVID-19 can really do a number on the mind if you allow it.
When I say this I mean it really takes a conscious and intentional effort to stay grounded and perceive this experience mindfully. If you fail to do this even for a moment you may easily find yourself swept away in a whirlwind of hopelessness and despair.
As I type this post I too struggle with this daily. I remind myself of this very thing 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. There are times when I force myself to unplug, zoom out to the macro perspective and re-focus on the grand scheme of things, seeing the bigger picture.
Ultimately, the bigger picture, the grand design supercedes everything else. When inundated with the details, it’s easy to forget this and get caught in the current of chaos. Quieting your thoughts, silencing all of the mayhem and becomming the eye of the storm has to always be the priority.
This is the cure to the wake up-go to sleep-repeat blues. Matters of the spirit/mind don’t cure with an external remedy. The true cure is in your capacity and ability to resolve the mind.
