This week’s Netflix and Chill Fav is You. Never in a million years did I expect a show like this to be so binge worthy. As much as I love a good psychological thriller so often they turn out to be anti-climactic. However, You was definitely the exception.
You is a true edge of your seat psychological thriller that literally keeps you guessing at every turn. From the first episode to the last you are sure to be intrigued, consumed and talking for hours about the latest episodic cliff hanger.
Joe Goldberg, the main character in You, has so many character complexities that you never truly grasp just who he is. The character of Joe is unbound, fluid and ever evolving right before your eyes in every mind boggling episode. The more he attempts to rationalize who he is the more bewildered he is about that person.
Contrary to the show’s title, You is little to do with Joe’s latest obsession and everything to do with Joe. As the plot unfolds you begin to realize that Joe’s obsessions are a bit more insight into who Joe is and in some instances who Joe will become.
If you haven’t already checked it out You is one for the ages. It is one of the rare shows that will go on to have timeless fan appeal. It forces you to ask yourself mind bending question about who you are. For as much as you want to dislike Joe, he forces you to self-evaluate, hold judgement and acknowledge aspects of yourself that may not be so pretty.
What do you think about our Netflix and Chill fav of the week? Have you watched it? What was or was not most appealing to you about the show?
