This week’s Netflix and chill fav is another oldie, but goodie. As a girlie girl this show is one of my absolute, all time favs. Gilmore Girls kept me entertained for years. I must have re-watched that series a dozen times and can literally do it again right now. To this day, Gilmore Girls is still my therapy.
While the underlying political agenda of this show is clear, Gilmore Girls gets a strong 10 out of 10 for the sheer feel good entertainment of it all. No matter what you’re going through Gilmore Girls is sure to make it all better. It’s humor, drama and romance all in one.
Starring Alexis Bledel as Rory and Lauren Graham as her mother Lorelei, Gilmore Girls is a multigenerational drama about family, love and friendship. The setting is in a storybook Connecticut town, Stars Hollow, populated by an eclectic mix of dreamers, artists and everyday folk.
The story centers around the evolution of the relationship between a teen mom and her daughter. As Rory comes of age you see she and her mother come to be something more than best friends. Rory and Lorelei have developed the most beautiful, unbreakable mother and daughter bond that most only dream of.
Ultimately, Gilmore Girls contains all the ingredients of an addictive show. The characters are very relatable. There’s likely to be something in each one that reminds you of someone that you know, if not bits of yourself. The story lines are oh so juicy and are never short on tea. The writing is phenomenal and the acting is spectacular!
Overall, Gilmore Girls is a timeless gem. It’s the type of show that you fall in love with at first sight. It’s the perfect escape. It’s the ultimate pick-me-up and after the first episode you’ll be as addicted to Gilmore Girls as Lorelai is to coffee. Gilmore Girls is truly the show you can’t fathom living without. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, but in the end you’ll feel good.
My life would not have been the same without Gilmore Girls in it. The worst day ever was when it ended. However, it actually hasn’t ended because now it’s streaming on Netflix! So if you haven’t checked this show out go now and make some popcorn, get comfy, and turn on Gilmore Girls because it’s all you’ll need in life from this day forward.
