Use Anger To Empower

yes, you can use anger to empower…

i was just having a coaching chat with someone about anger. anger is an intriguing beast. like everything there are both positive and negative aspects to it.

while anger can be used destructively, it can also be used constructively. it wasn’t until adulthood that i even realized that i harbored anger and was using it destructively by holding onto it internally. it has taken me years of yoga and meditation to effectively channel my anger through my crafts, thus using it constructively.

yet there is another side of anger. it’s one of those things that can easily lurk in the shadows without you having any awareness of it. you can hold onto it internally for years and not even realize it. it exists in the rehearsal of emotionally intense thoughts about stressful life events. it exists in the tensing of muscles when a certain person comes around or says something that somehow triggers it. it exists in the shallow breaths that are barely noticeable that seem to come out of nowhere.

anger wears many disguises. for you it may represent a person, place or thing. yet they are all you and they are all merely a representation of the anger that exists within.

at the same time, once you remove it’s disguise you become empowered by this thing, this energy, this entity that you created that we call anger. once you unmask it you have the power to take the energy otherwise known as anger, and do with it as you wish.

ultimately anger is energy, thus it is malleable. you have the power to take anger and transform it into passion, desire and dreams realized. so if you’re angry about missed opportunities you can transform it into commitment to go get what you want. if you’re angry about a failed relationship you can transform it into unconditional self love dedicating yourself to be deemed worthy of all the good that love has to offer.

in other words, if you decide, anger can be used constructively to change your life in ways unimaginable. it can be a stepping stone to something so profound. If you so choose, you can use anger to empower.

do you recognize the disguises that your representation of anger wears? have you ever tried to transform anger? how did that work out for you?
